Gateway NV59C-H34E and NV59C-H54E notebooks go on sale this Friday

gateway-nv59c-h34e_250x145
Gateway will update its NV notebook series this Friday, April, 23. NV lineup will now have two more Intel Core i-powered machines, but both new models (NV59C-H34E and NV59C-H54E) also feature Intel integrated graphics. So to say the least, update has its aim at business public because sans graphics latest NV’s specs don’t say too much about economy.
Gateway NV59C-H54E:
* Processor: Intel Core i5, 2.26GHz (2.53GHz w/Turbo Boost)
* System memory: 4GB DDR3, 1066MHz
* Hard drive: 640GB, 5400rpm
* Display: 15-inch WXGAG, 1366 x 768
* Connectivity: USB 2.0 x 3, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Gigabit Ethernet, VGA, HDMI
* Weight: 5.7lbs (2.6kg)
* Color scheme: silver
* Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Gateway NV59C-H34E is only different with its Core i3 (2.13GHz) processor instead of Core i5 and a blue color option. New Gateway NV Series notebooks will appear in stores in Japan in two days for prices varying from $850 to $950.

Hp TouchSmart tm2 getting core i3 and core i5 this Summer.

hp-tm2-hands-1top
This is just a rumor at this point, but it’s definitely one we’d file in the believable column. According to NewGadgets.de, HP’s planning to update its 12.1-inch tm2 convertible tablet with Core i3 and i5 processors in June. Considering we’ve heard that Intel will be releasing its Core i5 ULV processors around then, this certainly makes sense — after all, we’d expect HP to swap out the current Core 2 Duo ULV processors for something more powerful, yet power efficient. Time will tell if the new chips make it into the multitouch laptop, but it’s good to know that HP’s still working on at least some sort of Windows 7 tablet.

Intel to launch Core i3 ULV processor this quarter

msicorei5-1272665137
We knew that Intel had a Core i5 ULV chip in the works for a June release, and now PC World is reporting on an Intel roadmap mentioning the aforementioned CPU, as well as a ULV Core i3. Due for release this quarter, the new 32nm processor should reach “laptops in the second half of the year,” according to Intel VP Stephen Smith. The company was mum on release date, performance, and pricing, but don’t fret – keep your eyes on this space, and we promise you’ll know as soon as we do

Litl Webbook plummets from $699 to $399, still can’t catch an eye

webbook-price-drop
It’s tough out there playing second (or third… or tenth) fiddle. Just ask Fusion Garage. Similar to the path we saw Celio’s REDFLY take, Litl’s Webbook is slowly (but surely, we’re afraid) creeping towards complete and utter irrelevance, boasting a design that’s too niche to gain traction in the mainstream, a hardware lineup that’s too last year and a price that’s still far higher than some of the more reputable netbooks on the market today. After just six short months on the market, the company’s easel-styled laptop has fallen from $699 to $399, but during that same window of time, Intel has launched all new Atoms, tablet PCs have begun their assimilation on Planet Earth and HP has purchased Palm. Yeah, that last tidbit has precisely zero pertinence to the discussion at hand, but we bet even the engineers at Litl would’ve laughed you out of town had you told ‘em that would happen back in November of ’09.
